Dahabians & Proud
For many of us Dahab is a paradise, but as with many other places in the world, Dahab has its fair share of eco problems caused by; rubbish, tourism and overfishing.
But Dahabians are an eclectic set of people, coming from all over the world but united by one civic goal… to make & keep Dahab special.
I want to use this post to just introduce you to 3 very different initiatives that we know and had work close with them… just as example of what Dahabians are doing here to improve the situation…in 3 completely different fields:
DONT MESS WITH DAHAB
‘Say no to plastic are a Dahabian couple Bernadette Simpson & her husband Nadim Rafik Elkotry. ‘Don’t Mess With Dahab’ focuses on the root of the plastic waste problem & campaigns locally to offer ingenious solutions for alternatives to plastic.
ANIMAL WELFARE DAHAB
For years ‘Animal Welfare Dahab’ have helped to reduce the number of strays (Dahab’s free-range cats & dogs) by their ‘Trap, Neuter, Release’ program. Also they run adoption projects & help with all the legality to bring your Dahabian pet back home to Europe.

‘Protect the Reef’
EECAA strives to raise awareness within the Bedouin community here, of the problems caused by rubbish & overfishing.
